TTIA 9th International Congress on Therapeutic Touch® Healing a Chaotic World

Chaos may be defined as a state of total confusion and disorder, or as a system that demonstrates unpredictable and complex behavior. In recent years, our world has increasingly seemed to be moving in that direction. Chaos theory studies complex systems that may appear random, yet are governed by underlying deterministic laws, where even small changes in initial conditions can lead to vastly different outcomes.

Those small changes can make a profound difference when we come together in community. We know that the practice of Therapeutic Touch affects not only our healing partners, but also ourselves. We have long recognized that our practice influences the world around us as well. Through our centered presence and intentional movement through daily life, we can spread calm, compassion, and support.

By opening our Therapeutic Touch practices to the many healing resources offered through our relationships with self, the animal kingdom, and the natural world, we endeavor to create a healing counterpoint within a chaotic world.
